Virginia Tech track star Cole Beck is bringing his speed back to the football team. Hokies head coach Brent Pry confirmed at the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte that Beck, an All-American sprinter, has been back working out with the football team for a little over a month as a wide receiver.Pry envisions Beck being someone who can return and cover kicks and take the top off a defense with his speed.'We need some more speed at wide receiver,' Pry said. 'He obviously brings it.'Beck, who starred as a football and track athlete locally at Blacksburg High, originally went to Virginia Tech to play both sports, though he migrated toward track after breaking his collarbone in 2019.
