TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Kyron Drones came within a matter of feet of keeping Virginia Tech's faint hopes alive midway through the fourth quarter. Trey Benson needed all of 11 seconds to dash those thoughts of a potential comeback. Benson's second long touchdown run Saturday, this one on an 85-yard scamper, extended No. 5 Florida State's lead back to a comfortable margin. The host Seminoles withstood the Hokies' comeback bid and pulled away for a 39-17 win in front of a sold-out crowd at Doak Campbell Stadium.
